BISMARCK, ND – North Dakota Secretary of State Michael Howe has been selected by his peers to serve as the Midwestern Region Vice-President on the Executive Board of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS).

Secretary Howe was sworn in Friday, July 12 at the NASS 2024 Summer Conference. Founded in 1904, NASS includes secretaries of state, lieutenant governors, and chief election officials from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.

“I am honored to have the confidence of my fellow secretaries to serve on the NASS Executive Board as our Midwestern Region Vice President,” said Secretary Howe. “NASS is the nation’s oldest nonpartisan professional organization for public officials, and I am excited to create partnerships across the country that will not only benefit North Dakota, but also will benefit my colleagues in their states and territories. I am eager for the opportunity to serve in this leadership capacity and to represent North Dakota at the national level.” 

Secretary Howe previously served as co-chair of the NASS Business Services Committee. He is a member of the NASS Elections, Cybersecurity, and Business Services committees.
