People of Elections

At the heart of our elections are the people who dedicate their time to ensuring they are secure, accurate, fair, and open for the citizens of our state. You can trust our elections because they are run by your family, friends, and neighbors. North Dakotans run North Dakota elections. 

County auditors and their staff ensure North Dakota’s election laws are upheld and that elections are conducted securely, accurately, and with integrity. A lot of time and effort goes into running elections to make sure polling locations are scheduled and set up, equipment is tested, supplies and materials are reviewed and ordered, election workers are recruited and trained, and all eligible voters have an opportunity to cast a ballot.

If you are interested in serving as a poll worker, contact your county auditor. You will be provided required training to ensure you are prepared to help out at a polling location.
