BISMARCK, ND North Dakota Secretary of State Michael Howe has reviewed and approved petitions submitted by the No Labels Party of North Dakota to attain ballot access. The No Labels Party is the fourth political party to attain ballot access for the 2024 statewide elections, joining the North Dakota Republican Party (NDGOP), the North Dakota Democratic-NPL (ND DEM-NPL), and the Libertarian Party of North Dakota. The NDGOP and ND DEM-NPL both retained ballot access for 2024 by having candidates for President and Governor who received at least five percent of the statewide vote in the 2020 North Dakota presidential and gubernatorial election (NDCC 16.1-11-30). The Libertarian Party and No Labels Party both petitioned for ballot access.

In accordance with NDCC 16.1-11-30, political organizations that gain ballot access by way of petition are only granted ballot access for those offices for which the organization has identified candidates. Neither the No Labels Party or Libertarian Party had any candidate filings prior to the candidate filing deadline – 4 p.m., April 8, 2024. Due to this, neither party will have a column included on the June 11, 2024 Primary Election ballot. Both parties are still allowed an opportunity to place the names of presidential electors on the ballot for the General Election on November 5, 2024.

Political parties seeking to establish in North Dakota for the purpose of ballot inclusion in their own column on a primary election ballot must provide at least 7,000 signatures of qualified voters (NDCC 16.1-11-30). The Office of the Secretary of State accepted a total of 9,922 signatures of all those submitted by the No Labels Party.
