Secretary of State Michael Howe today announced that unofficial election results from the 2024 General Election have been updated to reflect the removal of 311 public test ballots that were inadvertently uploaded with Cass County’s unofficial election night results.
“Elections are only possible due to the assistance of many people dedicated to the administration of the process,” said Secretary of State Michael Howe. “Cass County Finance Director Brandy Madrigga quickly informed us when she realized that results from their public test were mistakenly included. Our teams worked together to remove the public test ballot results to ensure only votes cast by Cass County voters are reflected.”
Secretary Howe said unofficial election night results have been updated to reflect updated Cass County totals at www.sos.nd.gov/elections/election-results. No other county results are impacted. Citizens will notice a reduction in voter turnout numbers from 371,314 to an updated total of 371,003.
“Thank you to Cass County for acting quickly with our team when they discovered the mistake to ensure their unofficial election results accurately reflected the votes cast by their citizens,” said Secretary Howe.
Election results will remain unofficial until county canvassing boards meet on November 18, 2024, and results are certified by the State Canvassing Board on November 20, 2024.
