Linear Soils Surveys and Recommendations:Conducted on roadway improvement, reconstruction, and realignment projects:Research the construction history, maintenance history, and the existing geotechnical data associated with the proposed project area.Assist in developing a Geotechnical Investigation and Testing plan. Developing this plan includes identifying boring locations, sampling type, sampling frequency, and test types.Assist in developing recommendations to provide a subgrade that works efficiently in the pavement system.Deep Foundation Investigations and Reports:Conducted in areas where a structure is to be constructed, large embankment fills and any other areas that require in-situ soil properties.Research the geology, construction history, maintenance history, and the existing geotechnical data associated with the proposed project area.Assist in developing a Geotechnical Investigation and Testing plan. Developing this plan includes identifying boring locations, sampling type, sampling frequency, and test types.Assist in evaluating boring logs and test results to develop analyses and recommendations for projects for typical DOT bridge projects.Landslide Investigations and Recommendations:Conducted to investigate, monitor, develop and implement a mitigation plan.Research the geology, construction history, maintenance history, and the existing geotechnical data associated with the proposed project area.Assist in developing Geotechnical Investigation and Testing plan. Developing this plan includes identifying boring locations, sampling type, sampling frequency, and test types.Assist Field Crew with instrumentation installation.Read installed instrumentation and compile data raw data into reports.Assist in developing a slope stability model and construction specifications for relatively simple landslide projects.Intra-Divisional Support and Investigations:Respond to geotechnical questions and issues both in the field and during project development process.Assist in responding to district questions and concerns during earthwork construction activities. This can require site visits with district staff.Assist in developing Department Specifications for Geotechnical aspects of construction and plan development.Respond to Geotechnical field or maintenance issues as called upon.Geotechnical Studies and Research:Ensure that section practices are in accordance with the State of the Practice in the Geotechnical Field.Keep up to date with AASHTO LRFD and FHWA geotechnical design standards.Continue education and research in the geotechnical field.

Domestic Violent Extremism/Terrorism Analyst is required to provide intelligence analysis and program support to the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES) - Division of Homeland Security. The position is assigned to the North Dakota State and Local Intelligence Center (NDSLIC). This position is dedicated to advancing initiatives related to combating domestic violent extremism (DVE) and terrorism, both foreign and domestic.The following is a summary of the job responsibilities; this is not an all-inclusive list or a full job description. The position of the DVE/Terrorism Analyst reports directly to the NDSLIC's Chief of Operations and Intel Manager. This position will conduct open-source analysis and research concerning public safety, develop and conduct training sessions on domestic violent extremism and terrorism for law enforcement personnel, as well as other public and private sector stakeholders.The DVE/Terrorism Analyst will follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the protection of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties. This position will assist with the development and support of the Information Liaison Officer (ILO) program to enhance stakeholder's ability to assess and manage threats.The DVE/Terrorism Analyst will support the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) in training, exercise, and operational support as necessary. Travel in and out of state may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and two years of professional work experience demonstrating extensive verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills. Relevant post-secondary education may substitute for the work experience on a year for year basis. Extensive knowledge of technology including Office 365. Must possess a ND Class D driver's license or equivalent from another state, valid auto insurance and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to respond within 30 minutes to the worksite. Whether you come from a business, psychology, education, or any other field, if you have a talent for fostering meaningful connections and generating innovative ideas, we want to hear from you.As part of our team, this position will have a primary focus on the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth program, a federal program designed to deliver a comprehensive array of youth services that focus on assisting out-of-school youth and in-school youth who may have barriers to employment prepare for post-secondary education and employment opportunities, attain educational and/or skills training credentials, and secure employment with career/promotional opportunities.You will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and tailored case management for the program(s), providing aid in completing applications and determining eligibility for the program(s). Through one-on-one consultations, you will assess clients' goals, strengths, skills, and interests. You will develop personalized action plans and, depending on the program, direct to eligible training, certification, educational opportunities, services, and other resources; offering advice, as well as guidance on resume writing and interview preparation, ultimately helping clients achieve success in the job market.This position will additionally provide information and assistance to customers utilizing the work center resources via in-person visits, telephone, and electronic inquires. As a team member, you will coordinate program services within the work center to meet customers' needs, provide orientation to services and resources provided within the work center, provide job search, placement, and career counseling assistance, and guidance on navigating the jobsnd.com website and on filing unemployment insurance claim (if needed). You will collaborate with rural and local workforce partners by conducting presentations, promoting the program(s) to specific groups, identifying training, apprenticeship, and job opportunities; demonstrating website features (such as resume searches, labor market information, and job postings), and educating on other state and federal resources available.Travel may be required during regular business hours throughout the week for training and to perform outreach activities to customers/clients.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience/education combination:a bachelor's degree in education, business management or related studies, or a human services-related field plus at least two (2) years of related work experienceOR at least six (6) years of related work experience and a high school diploma or equivalentRelated work experience typically includes assessing an individual's talent, hard and soft skill inventory, and/or employment barriers, in order to prepare job seekers and students for the workplace, create career pathways, enhance training opportunities, identify transferrable skills for displaced or disabled workers, and/or case management.

Preferred Qualifications

We're seeking a dedicated individual to oversee our JP3 and PRIDE programs.As part of the Job Placement Pilot (JP3) program, you will be assisting incarcerated individuals transitioning back into the community, fostering positive relationships between employers, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and program participants, ultimately helping clients achieve success in the job market by providing employment services, access to training programs, referrals to needed services, and funding for support services.The Parental Responsibility Initiative for the Development of Employment Program (PRIDE) program collaborates with the Department of Human Services to help parents who are or may become delinquent in the payment of court-ordered child support by providing useful and effective work activities. These activities help parents obtain work or overcome underemployment in order to meet their obligations. The program offers employment services, GED referral and assistance with testing fees, and transportation cost assistance.In both programs, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and tailored guidance to assist individuals with these specific barriers to secure meaningful employment opportunities. Through one-on-one consultations, you will determine program eligibility and assess clients' employment needs, strengths, skills, interests, career goals, and areas for development. You will develop personalized action plans, identify barriers, offer advice, guidance on resume writing and interview preparation, direct to training opportunities, services, and other resources, and oversee progress towards attainable outcomes.This position collaborates with community partners by identifying job opportunities, presenting on resume building, job searching, career development, and offering felon friendly resources.
