This is an Eligibility Worker II - Lead Worker position for Group 1. Essential functions of this position is to determine eligibility and ongoing benefits which may include working with multiple economic assistance programs. Provide initial and ongoing training, onboarding new employees, answer policy and system questions, coach and consult on complex issues , review work for timeliness and accuracy. This position assesses and analyzes a client's circumstances and financial capabilities to determine initial and continued eligibility of applicants and recipients by interpreting and applying complex state, federal and county policies, process applications and maintain a caseload, establish an electronic case file, perform necessary actions relating to fraud and appeals, attend training sessions and workshops and other duties as assigned by the agency. A high level of verbal and written communication skills are also required. Computer literacy and regular attendance at work is imperative.

Minimum Qualifications

Eligibility Worker II requires one of the following:Completion of the Eligibility Worker two year associate degree program and one year as an Eligibility Worker ICompletion of the Eligibility Worker one year certificate program and two years as an Eligibility Worker ICompletion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program and two years as an Eligibility Worker IGraduation from high school or GED and three years work experience involving processing of claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes or housing assistance, work experience in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investment/financial planning; computer/data processing field plus two years as an Eligibility Worker IThree years of any combination of education and experience listed above and two years as an Eligibility Worker I
