The Cass Human Service Zone Family Service Department serves to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families in our community. Three (3) positions are available to be filled with designated afternoon shift hours with specialization as CPS Assessment Worker or In-Home / Foster Care Case Manager depending on candidate experience, skillset and interest.Cross-training within the team may be utilized to ensure prompt response and consistency to ensure child safety in our community. Strong documentation, communication and collaboration skills are required of individuals in these positions to maintain quality delivery of services and continuity of client and case management between teams and team members on different shifts. Afternoon shifts may range between 11 AM to 9 PM.Hybrid (in-office and telecommuting) work environments will be considered for these positions outside of agency business hours.Zone business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Frequent travel throughout Cass County, and occasional intrastate travel, is required.Example of DutiesAssess and process referrals for child abuse or neglect.Conduct assessment interviews.Design, organize, implement, and monitor effectiveness of case plans. Identify and facilitation use of community resources and support services.Make determinations regarding client placement. Participate in emergency response, crisis intervention, and after-hours on-call service.Complete safety assessments on cases and determine eligibility for services and level of care.Develop safety plans for children addressing special needs of clients.Participate in interdisciplinary team staffing to modify treatment plans.Prepare legal documents and participate in legal proceedings, including providing testimony.

Minimum Qualifications

These positions are open only to current Cass Human Service Zone Team Members.To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, or criminal justice. Plus, one of the following:A LBSW and/or background in social work is preferred, but not required for this position. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for construction and engineering, who enjoys working outdoors and has a strong understanding of technology to fill our role as an engineering technician/construction technician!As our new team member, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections for all types of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. You'll get to work with cutting-edge equipment like Robotic Total Station GPS, drones, and use computer aided drafting software such as MicroStation to measure and calculate quantities and create reports and plan sheets for use on construction projects. You'll also get to perform tests on road and bridge building materials for all types of projects to ensure that they meet NDDOT specifications.But that's not all! You'll have the opportunity to assist project engineers with checking and organizing project final records, as well as with district design work that requires the use of MicroStation. And don't worry, we'll make sure you have all the necessary training and support to excel in these tasks.We're looking for someone with all types of knowledge and skill level to join our team!

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for an Engineering Technician IV, you must have at least six years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level course work and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Materials testing is preferred.To be considered for an Engineering Technician III, you must have at least four years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level coursework and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Materials testing is preferred.To be considered for an Engineering Technician II, you must have at least two years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level coursework and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Materials testing is preferred.To be considered for an Engineering Technician I, you must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a basic understanding of the concepts needed for this type of work.At any level, you'll need to be able to work in all types of weather on a variety of uneven or slippery surfaces, have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry several items with a total weight of 50 pounds, and have a valid North Dakota Class D driver's license in order to travel to project locations.But most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about construction and engineering, has strong organizational and communication skills, and is proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
